Well, we are just one week away from our 'big adventure' in Australia. Training continues to go well, despite the rain and cold weather here. We can't wait to arrive in Sydney and start enjoying our 'next' summer for this year! We just found out that they have recently changed the date for the Opening Ceremonies for the World Master Games to October 11th. This is great news for us, as we arrive the morning of October 11th, so we will be able to participate in the marching in of the "athletes" at the opening ceremonies in Sydney's Olympic Stadium.
We were very fortunate to have the chance to be there as spectators for the 2000 Olympics, so it will be quite the experience to now march in as competitors! I am sure our hearts will be pounding.
Best run for now (no pun intended). We will keep you posted as to our experiences over our stay in Australia from October 9-Nov 1, 2009.

Looks and sounds like you are having a fabulous time - I'm very envious!! We still have snow on the ground but THEY say it will be warmer by the weekend. Had a great thanksgiving. Edna got a new cast put on today and is enjoying Jim's company. She's worried you may have a cold Don??
ReplyDeleteG'day Howards,
ReplyDeleteOur friend Shelley pumped us both full of special supplements. For Don's cold so he is feeling better and on the mend. Pumped me full of them so that I wouldn't catch it and it worked! We do alot everyday so we just have NO time at all for any colds to hit us.
Thanks for the update. Hope Edna takes full advantage of Jim's visit ;-) Give a big hug and kisses to Edna..and everyone.
